Operator Error? July 15, 2010 The Grizz (Nevada, USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Reading some of the other reviews, I think some people are installing these incorrectly. The symptoms they describe sound like the first set I bought, which was for my girlfriend's 2008 Nissan Rogue. When I installed the driver's side wiper (the longer of the two) it didn't make good contact with the windshield and would have left huge streaks. There is a way to adjust how the wiper sits by fiddling with the mount. Once I did that (per the included instructions), it worked like a champ. I just put a pair on my 2010 Xterra, and didn't have to do anything special...they worked great from the start. It sometimes pays to read the instructions.
As far as the blades scratching the windshield, the only thing I can think of that would cause that to happen is if they forgot to take the plastic cover off the blade. I can't see how someone might do that, but the blade itself is pretty flexible, so I have no idea how it could scratch auto glass.
For me, these have been great, and the price on Amazon is very reasonable. I think I saved about $6 per blade by not getting them at the local auto parts store. I think this should be one of the items that Amazon lets you "Subscribe" to, so you could have them delivered every six months or so. That would certainly help me to remember to change my wiper blades!
Great wiper and it looks nice too. April 19, 2010 Rodney Reynolds (Ohio USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I put these Latitude wipers on both of our vehicles recently (2009 Ford Fusion and 2004 E350 - 15 Passenger Van). These wipers were very easy to install. The necessary mechanism was already connected, so it only required removing the old blades, and then sliding these onto the hooks. These wipers look impressive, as they have a wider body than many wipers, and the blade is centered which gives it a great look on your windshield.
We have had a couple of pretty hard rain events since I installed these, and they performed great. They move smoothly across the windshield, with no annoying sounds. I'm not an expert on windshield wipers, but my experience has been better so far with these, than with any other blade I have ever used. These blades do cost more than some of the other blades you can buy, but so far I think they are worth the purchase price.
I'm very happy, after about a month of using these on two vehicles.
Good wipers October 30, 2008 M. Montag 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I live in rainy Northern California, where the wipers not only have to stand up to lots of rain, but mold can be a problem too. My Stock wipers were no good after only one rainy season, so I replaced them with Rain-x Latitude wipers. They do a great job. You can tell they make full contact across their entire length, so there are no streaks. They are even able to wipe off the thin mist than can form on the outside of the windshield when it is cold. I've had them for 9 months now and they have held up well and do not show any signs of mold either.
Best blades I've ever bought July 7, 2009 Stephen Lerch (Elkton, MD United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought my Subaru Outback in October '06, and as Subaru has warranty coverage for wiper blade replacement, I would use their service instead of buying new blades. Unfortunately for me, it seems the Subaru blades don't handle car washes very well, so if I took new blades into a car wash, cleaned them off thoroughly (no wax/soap/whatever left on the blade), they would streak in the next rain, without fail. I was lazy and didn't want to spend money I didn't have to.
A month ago my warranty expired and my blades were the equivalent of wet rags when it rained. I decided to spring for some non-standard blades so I jumped on the Rain-X Latitudes.
I couldn't be happier.
The first day I had them, it rained. My windshields were clear and devoid of streaks.
Installation was a breeze, though I found some of their instructions lacking in detail and the pictures also confusing. Rain-X could do some work there.
I have since washed my car and unlike the standard Subaru blades, these blades don't streak and continue to work just as well as when I received them. And with 12 of 15 days raining here in MD last month, they have gotten plenty of work out in the month+ I've had them.
Highly recommended.
